We currently have 2 openings for the position of Part-time Web Surfer who will assist us in the following tasks:

• Submit links to Search Engines and Directories
• Commenting on Blogs
• Participate actively in Forums
• Assist with web content compilation
• Ad-hoc office duties as required

Requirements:

• You must NOT be working for another Web Design or Web Hosting company (either full or part time)
• No technical knowledge is required but candidate must be fast on the PC and training will be provided
• Candidate must have good attitude and be teachable
• Minimum availability is one-and-a-half (1.5) days per week
• Flexible work day (any day of the week subject to mutual arrangement) from 10.00am to 7.00pm
• Work location is in our Puchong office (Bandar Puteri)

Q1: What exactly will I be doing?
A: You will need to surf the web and find directories, blogs, search engines, forums and other websites where you can submit links for our websites. You may also need to assist us with content compilation for our web design work adn other admin or ad hoc duties which may be required from time to time. 

Q2: When will I be paid?
A. Initially you will be paid fortnightly. From the second month onwards, payment will be on a monthly basis.

Q3: Is the job open to people who are working weekdays Mon-Fri?
A: Yes but we will give preference to those who can avail themseves at least 1 day in our office. Our office is closed on weekends. Ideally we are looking for someone who can work at least 1 week day per week in our office, if not then we need you to come in for 1 day on-the-job training. If you can handle the work, then  you are free to work from home.

Q4: What do you mean by 1.5 days?
A: We are flexible on the time which you work. But we need you to clock up the equivalent of 1.5 days during any one week. One day means around 9 hours work (10am to 7pm).

Q5: I am from outstation and cannot come to your office. Can I still apply?
A: Refer to Q3 above. We need you to come in for some basic training first.

Q6: Is this a part-time job? I’m just looking for extra income and work full-time elsewhere….
A: Yes this is a part time job. Fantastic, we can assure you of the extra income part and in fact this job may open up other opportunities for an enthusiastic learner. Your application will be considered if you can commit the minimum as required under Q3 and Q4.

Q7: I am interested… what is the procedure?
A: You will need to submit your CV by 7-May-08. We will be shortlisting candidates as of now and interviewing candidates from 2-May-08. Successful candidates can expect to start work immediately after the interview.

• Fluent in English and Chinese.
• Willing to learn.

The following skills would be advantageous:

1. PHP and MySQL
2. Basic Web Design techniques in Photoshop
3. Experience with open source applications such as WordPress, Joomla, phpBB etc.
